Change Your World was the GCLA 2008 Easter Conference theme. This year’s guest speakers, Pastors Lee Powell and Steve Hutmacher, came from Cedar Creek Church in Toledo, Ohio. Other speakers included Pastors  Sergio Handal from Mexico, Angel Amador from Nicaragua, Victor Turcios from El Salvador and Francisco Morales, Dagoberto Irias, Alfonso Faraj, Dennis Chavarria and Giovanni Granera from Honduras.

Nelson Guerra, GCLA’s Director, challenged the audience with an exciting expansion project: 2008 in 2008!  The goal is to add 2008 new members to our movement in 2008 by using the Spiral, GCLA’s spiritual formation process. Nelson also stressed the importance of multiplying multipliers, unity and maturity in our lives in order to keep on fulfilling the Great Commission.

Close to four thousand people attended this year’s conferences held in three Latin-American countries: Honduras, Panama, and Venezuela. We give the credit to God that our vision is being accomplished: a growing church in every major city of Latin America.

The Spiral uniquely distinguishes GCLA’s discipleship process.  All who attended were equipped with the necessary tools to expandandmake new followers ofChrist.The process consists of four phases:

1. Enlist – from Christian to connected

• This phase is to promote the spiritual growth of the new believer.
• The goal is to Enlist the new believer in the local church.
• The result of the first phase is Connection.

2. Establish – from connected to committed

• This phase is the integration of spiritual habits in the life of the new believer.
• The goal is to Establish the new member of the church in the faith.
• The result of the second phase is Commitment.

3. Equip – from committed to coached

• This phase is to train the member to serve others as he/she establishes a pattern to become spiritually mature.
• The goal is to Equip the small group member.
• The result of the third phase is Coaching.

4. Expand – from coached to catalyzer

• This phase is about the disciple multiplying his/her life in other people’s lives.
• The goal is to Expand and send the disciples to fulfill the Great Commission.
• The result of the fourth phase is to live for the Cause.
