Great Commission Latin America’s (GCLA’s) missional approach of the mobilization of U.S. short-term teams is to bring together evangelism and social action. The short-term mission (STM) program is called STM Faith Venture. The purpose of this program is to create opportunities for U.S. and Latino churches to bring Shalom (the way things are supposed to be under God’s Kingdom) to the Latino world. The missionaries’ goal is to meet the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of fragmented communities in Latin America. Through these acts of service and the proclamation of the Gospel, these communities in Latin America have experienced the love of Christ.
The missionaries work on community projects to improve the infrastructure, economic, and spiritual condition of the communities they serve, therefore embodying Jesus’ message of reconciliation. The missionaries, as they work in the communities, must live out the practices that display the values of the Kingdom of God- love, kindness, gentleness, genuine caring, generosity, forgiveness, etc. The intention is to mirror Jesus approach to evangelism—the life of the Kingdom to come—of breaking into the midst of this present evil age.

Ciudad Nueva is a community of families who were relocated on the aftermath of Hurricane Match in 1998. After the hurricane flooded the entire region, these families lost their homes, all their belongings, and their hope.  read more

CAMALOTE
Camalote’s region has 21 villages located in the Pijol Rainforest in Honduras. These villages are spread out within a fertile, dark green valley. Most of its population consists of peasants. The education level in the area is very low. God is doing a miracle in these communities. read more

The church’s vision here is to build a community center that serves the people in La Ceiba and neighboring communities with health care, occupation trades, and Biblical and leadership training.

There are many other projects and places to go. Cities like Lima, Monterrey, Managua, Olanchito, Guapiles, Valencia; places like Oasis Orphanage or the Lenca Tribe in Honduras; Projects range from painting a school, setting up a workshop for teaching new recipes to women, to organizing events for the local firemen and business professionals.
